Evaluating 21st Century Skills

After reading and looking through the web site the Partnership for 21st Century Skills, it sounds like a great organization dedicated to involve the community and society to have a better vision of the future for all children. By doing this they will create life-long learners and people that is well prepared in the workplace.
I had never heard about it, and was surprised by all the organizations that support it. Again, it sounds like a community working together on a good cause. As a contemporary educator I need to get more informed and use the resources available to help my students develop learning skills and to succeed.

  1. I also was surprised about never hearing about this site. I looked and it is supported by the state I live in, New Jersey, and still as an educator had never heard of this program. It makes me wonder what other resources are available, and yet unknown. I wonder if there is a state sponsored web-site that has access to resourceful links?

  2. As educators, we know how important the link is between education and business. It is impressive to see that a site such as this is well supported by the business community. In order to fund technology beyond just the basics for survival in our schools, collaboration between education and industry is imperative. It is our best hope of sending our students out into the work world fully prepared to work in a 21st century world.

  3. I never heard of it either, but it was very impressive. I was a little skeptical about reading it at first, but once I saw some of the members and partners,I figured there may be something to it. As educators we have to get our students ready to be successful in the work place, and it great to see that the business community is ready to back us up.
